Congratulations to the Joondalup Family Centre!

The Banksia Grove Community Kickstart grant aims to create a real change in our Banksia Grove community by providing a $10,000 grant to an eligible organisation that works towards promoting social, cultural or environmental benefits to our local community.

Banksia Grove Village received 5 applications to the Community Kickstart grant from local groups. After careful reviewing and two rounds of judging, we are thrilled to announce that the Joondalup Family Centre is the 2024 Banksia Grove Community Kickstart recipient!

The Joondalup Family Centre Inc is a not-for-profit registered charity community-based organisation established in 1992 to offer a range of programs and services meet the needs of local families, community organisations and groups. Their objectives are to support families, to provide programs and services that enhance the well-being and resilience of families in the local community.

The $10,000 grant will go towards starting their ‘Together we eat’ program for the Banksia Grove community. Together We Eat Group aims to alleviate food insecurity and foster community unity by providing nutritious, community-cooked meals in a welcoming and inclusive environment. The program empowers individuals through education, volunteerism, and sustainable practices, promoting health, resilience, and social cohesion.
